The Project Draftsman will utilize all Adams Group drafting standards. The incumbent must represent the company with quality and timely submittals and must always strive to understand the customer's objectives, keeping in mind Adams Group's standard of production.Required education and experience:Vocational training - degree in drafting preferred and/or at least two years in drafting or cabinetry experience with high school diploma or equivalentExperience with Microvellum desiredExperience with AutoCAD 2000 or higher desiredMust have high attention to detailAbility to read and interpret complex architectural drawingsAbove average computer skills and with the ability to learn new skills as neededAbility to work at computer for long periods of timeAbility to read and interpret job specificationsKnowledge of materials and processes related to cabinetryProfessional attitudeSense of urgency towards completing assigned tasksMust have initiative, be a self-starter and problem solver. Must be able to work in a team environment with little to no supervisionEssential functions:Interpret architectural drawings accurately and draft them into shop drawings for both submittal and productionCreate, maintain, and update drawings to assure timely manufacturing of product to customer's specificationsCommunicate with the Project Manager regarding items that may affect pricing, scheduling, delivery, etc.Prepare production drawings by incorporating redlines when shop drawings are returned after review form Architect and/or contractorIncorporate field measurements into the drawings and prepare for productionUtilize all available resources to confirm that the design will workAttend drawing reviews/W.O. releasesPrepare and submit material requisitions and coordinate with the Purchasing Department to order special materialsCommunicate effectively to internal points of production, both verbally and in writingBe available to continually communicate with Project Managers, Estimators, Manufacturing team members, Engineers and upper managementProvide Purchasing Department with preliminary and final material requirements for jobReview cut lists and final optimizations package prior to releasing for productionClarify any and all outstanding manufacturing questionsAdams Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a Drug Free Workplace.PM22PI184638288SDL2017
